Thanksgiving.

I Like this quote I dislike this quote“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.”  -Gautama Siddharta

<I’m thinking about limiting my posts to once-a-week.  I don’t have enough of an interesting life to keep a one-a-day page.  People on fruit diets can manage that.  I cannot.>

I’ve been through an impass lately, what with my emotions and my situation.  But I think I’m pulling through, at least for now.  Which is something to be thankful for.  But enough about that. I’m going to leave this post simple and just create a list for you all.

  1. I am thankful for that fact that I am alive.  Every day I wake up, even to the sound of that damnable alarm clock, I treat it as another chance.  Every mistake I’ve made can have an oppurtunity at a fresh start, and I can try to change my life.  Without this, I don’t think I could survive.  Thank you for the mornings.  (Honestly I’d never think I’d say thank you to the morning).
  2. I am thankful that I am an American.  Otherwise I probably wouldn’t be allowed to write my blog.  Anywhere else I would be intercepted by the government.  Strange, it seems.  But my life, no matter how sad and pathetic it may seem or however horrible it may become, will never be a single iota as bad as some kid elsewhere in the world.  So for that, I tip my state-provided tapwater to the world.
  3. I am thankful that I have remained myself.  So often I have been afraid that the world would engulf me, but I’ve managed to remain completely and entirely whole.
  4. Finally, I am thankful that I have oppurtunities.  Without them, I wouldn’t be here.

Mash Poetry

Just to wake up
Becomes a challenge here
          The bruises from the
Tree are still clear
Oh, what is this that I seem to be missing?
Passion, longing, I always want
But never have

Flames
My soul, it sheds a tear
Only to be burned
By these.
Compel;
Dispel
This diet of agony that so afflicts my being
And prevents me, truly, from ever seeing
Anything, or everything; something at all.

Preparation

No more Revolution stuff for right now.  I have to let it simmer and find some way to spread the word.  Then we’ll see how it goes.

Right now, I’m trying to prepare hard for debate.  Cutting new evidence, finding answers to arguments, yadda yadda yadda.  It’s a hard process, but I have to make up for what happened at Whitman.  That was…inexcusable.  Not only did I fail, but I failed epically.  Granted Rob and I should have made it into Octafinals but a judge scored our ballot wrong…still.  I should have made it in EASILY.  Oh well, I still have Rocky Mountain.  We’ll see how that goes.

Fingers crossed.

Oh, and it seems that IN ALL THE INTERNET there is only ONE…SINGLE…THING on how to do an Oratorical Analysis.  That pisses me off to no end.  I’m supposed to call Letterle, and I think I’ll email him, but either way it sucks.

Well, night.  It’s a short post but I’m not in the mood for longevity.  I’m not in the mood for anything.  Not even to do my homework; and I really want to get it over with.  Ah well.  We’ll see what happens.

Spread the Word

Or just spread the ideal.  Tell them it won’t last, this period of darkness and dirt.

But don’t tell them that we’re some ‘new wave’ or ‘new age’ ideology.  That’s nowhere near what I care about.  I just want to tell you of the change that will happen; and it will happen I assure you.  The masses are naturally rebellious, and the few in charge are naturally oppressive.  Even if they don’t mean it, they will end up oppressing us all.  Small policies, ’security measures’, etc etc ad nauseum…they’re all bound to put a chink in the armor of civil liberties.  Each chink leads further and further into incurable damage, until soon enough we have to refurbish our armor.

Maybe a little spitwash.

Back to America

Sorry, folks.  I’ve been incredibly busy.  Darned school and its ‘peculiar’ educational institutions.  It’s for my good, I suppose, but that does not detract from its sheer annoyance.

But now I’m back, for a time, and I figure I’ll leave a few momentos before I am taken away by the rigid structure of debate tournaments.

In debate, I’ve learned to look at everything before making decisions; to check into sources and credibility and actual solutions before going through.  It’s this internal drive that makes me hate the system.  Not the government.  The governmental system is an amazing idea.  I’m talking about the people.

I’m sick and tired of corruption in the workplace.  It’s denied and hidden, but we all know it’s there.  The problem is exactly that, however.  We know it’s there, yet we do nothing.  Complacency is the allowance of corruption and disorder to grip our nation.  I don’t know about you, but the America I know was not born to reallow governmental disease to plague us.

It’s a cycle, and it goes on even though we try to stop it.  America freed itself from the crushing boot of the English.  Blacks, along with abolitionists, pried open the eyes of the American people to see that they themselves were oppressing African Americans.  In this way we will, again, find some unjustice and fight against it.  But now, we’ve moved against human oppression and physical oppression.  Now, it’s oppression of the mind.  Our ideas are censored and blocked, even though we have a ‘freedom of speech’.  But, then again, when lately has the government followed the rules?

Tit for tat, something is boiling under the surface.  It might not crack yet.  It might not even come to national attention anytime soon.  But some of us see it.  Some of us know it’s there.  And it’s our job to let others know.  That’s what i’m doing, and I’ll see myself put away before I silence my mouth.

We need a few honest men.  Like there used to be in the beginning.  When a president merely represented and protected his people; where he treated others with respect and integrity.  Not with lies, deciet, and under-the-table arrangements.

The worst part about politics is that the honest don’t and won’t survive.  It’s impossible.  The ones that don’t get funding by separating from their morals and political platforms are threatened with obscurity and unemployment.  No right-minded man would see that and take it lightly.

Not unless he was an honest man.

What America Needs

I’m going to agree with Mr. ‘Anonymous’ here.  Personally, I could care less about experience or anything like that.  We have a Cabinet for that, to tell our president the best course of action from oodles and oodles of data and experiments.  All we need is a president compitent enough to be able to discern facts and test them a little to make sure it’s sound and a good idea.

Our president needs to be able to unify people without alienating anyone.  Our president needs to be able to speak to everyone, not just his followers.  Most importantly, our president has to be able to talk to any political leader, no matter their status according to America.  Peace is not made by silence; it is made by talking about it.

Now, I won’t say that Obama is the perfect candidate.  No one is.  But McCain is just another chip off of the political party block, no matter how much he’ll tell us he doesn’t care about party.  Why do you think he ran as a republican?  Why do you think he focuses on republican states?  Obama does the same, but he’s also reaching out to the Republicans.  His voice isn’t limited to just his own party.

It’s an interesting situation.  I think our nation has a chance of changing.  It’s all hinging on this election, whether or not people can see the world as it ought to be, not how it’s portrayed by liers and deciet.

Why I want to change it all.

I get asked this a lot, recently.  Well, quite simply, I love my America.  I love what it used to stand for, at least.  I love the sense of freedom and equality and oppertunity.  However, our nation isn’t exactly all for that any more.  There is all these things that seem to be completely against America; or at least against what America means.

To me, America is the epitome of freedom, and we haven’t been showing it.  We haven’t been led by men who have that as their top priority.  Worst of all, most of the men who have been leading recently have wanted nothing but their own goals.  It’s why I hate political parties.  It fosters hostility, distrust, and selfishness.  This is not American.

So, for all of you, this is what I’m fighting for.  I’m fighting for America.  I’m not a terrorist, a mob war starter, or a crazy person.  I’m a vigilante and a patriot.

I just happen to fight for America, not a party.

My new mission

It’s a simple one, actually.  I want to tell you about the New Revolution, and I want you (anybody) who reads this to pass the word.  Tell them about the site and the person.  Send me an email, ask me questions, yell at me, I don’t care.  I just want to know that people are reading this and you’re spreading the word.  I want it spread.

The New Revolution is a vision of mine (not literal).  It’s where the people of the US decide that they’re tired of being lied to and being complacent, letting the government walk all over us.  We will, at some point in time, rebel against our government and replace it with honest, good-will people that care about our well-being, instead of their own agendas.

Now, as for the ‘when’, I don’t know.  The Revolutionary War took years to come to a boiling point, and I see this revolution doing the same.  It will take a while.  But if we get the people active, and if we let them know and think about it, maybe it will happen faster, and with more enthusiasm.  This nation needs a breakthrough, and this breakthrough is inevitable.

Just make yourself part of the chain.  Get involved.  Change the world, for the better.

A post about Nothing

So…I’ve been really undiligent in my posts, haven’t I?  Has it been the summer that I have just lazed about in?  Was it a possibly lazy schedule?  Or was it none of those and I just had nothing to write about?  I’m going to go with the latter.  I’ve had absolutely nothing to write about, so I’ve written nothing.  But I don’t want people to think I’ve died…so I decided I’de write nothing.

That’s right, nothing.  I’m writing about absolutely nothing.  Nothing, nowhere, and no time.  I don’t have a deadline, because all I’m writing about is nothing.  Speaking of which, this reminds me of a filler article a writer wrote because there was a humongous ad where his article was supposed to be.  Kind of the same thing.  filler, without, content, because he could.

Well I think that’s enough about nothing.  I exist, and school is starting next week.  Crap.

Zach and Cody = Dream Life

I was bored today, so I decided to watch some morning TV.  The Suite Life of Zach and Cody happened to be on, so I watched it without remorse.  It was an episode about getting priveleges, abusing them to watch a horror movie, yadda-yadda-yadda.  Makes me wish I lived in a hotel.  Namely a suite of a hotel, so I knew everyone in the staff by name.  This = intense.  No lie.

Besides, you get a free pool, workout room, and all that jazz.  Yes, living in a hotel is the way to go.  Not a motel, mind you.  A hotel.  Three-to-four star only.  If you get any less, there’s no point in living there because you dont’ get any benefits.

However, what would be even more awesome would be if you lived in a four star hotel and the staff never found out.  Free, man.  Absolutely free.  You could go and hide in the top of the stairwell overnight and sleep.  Sure, it’s not the best sleep but you get free food and services, man.  That’s the life.

Of course, there’s always some kind of life lesson to be learned on that kind of show, and I learned it well enough a long time ago so I kind of ignored it.  Ah, the innocent ignorance of a teenager.  I love it.

Toodles, guys.  Still waiting for Boondocks to call.
